In this video, Dr Wells discusses referrals and why Wells Medicine does not require them for new patients.

Do I require a referral for treatment?
Wells Medicine does not require referrals for new patients. We do ask that you have a physician or other professional you can list who is available to you for regular and urgent needs.
Many of our patients have a long history of treatment. Many of our patients have tried different approaches to address their symptoms and they will often come to us after other options have failed to provide substantial or meaningful improvements. Whether you have a long medical record to share or not, we look to your history and your diagnoses to better understand your needs and evaluate your suitability for treatment. If there is any reason why you might not be able to proceed we’ll flag it up before moving forward.
We like to work collaboratively, whenever possible, with a care team. We are glad to receive referrals, and we’re very glad to speak to a patient’s other physicians or providers.
Many psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists and others are keenly aware of the details of ketamine. Others are less familiar with the benefits, scheduling, and other considerations around a set of ketamine treatments. We’re happy to work with these providers, not only on details about shared patients, but also to discuss the treatments themselves.
Whether you have a referral or not, we look forward to learning more about you and to seeing how we can help.
