Food & Nutrition

The following recommendations may be helpful to extend or improve the results of mental health treatments provided by Wells Medicine and may be helpful on their own. These supplementary resources and advice are not exhaustive and do not serve as medical advice or substitute for medical care.

What we put into our bodies is important to consider with the results we expect to get out of it. Just as the presence of junk news or junk friends in your life will impact your mental life, food with artificial colors, flavors, and preservatives will too. A well-nourished body is an important part of promoting and maintaining a healthy mind.

Blood sugar control can have a great impact on your mental health. Poor blood sugar control, with untimely glucose dips and spikes, can certainly make you feel bad. Staying conscious of what you’re eating, what time of day you eat it, and in what order, can help you maintain steady glucose levels. Similarly, your vitamin levels and ability to sleep are all connected to how you’re supplying your body with nutrition.
